Description:

• Jones was the first artist-in-residence for the City of Minneapolis. In honor of the city’s 150th anniversary, the City of Minneapolis commissioned ten public art drinking fountains. Jones' fountain, located at the corner of Main Street SE and 3rd Avenue SE, suggests a tilted bowl, spilling water onto the earth. Users bow and hold the bowl in a brief ritual honoring the first sources of drinking water, which is nearby this site (see the historical map of St. Anthony on thi site).
